Vietnamese Culture and Science Association presents Viet Cultural Fest on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Reliant Center, Hall E, NRG Park. Founded in 2019 by three young Vietnamese Americans, the fest was born from a wish to reconnect with cultural roots and lift Houston’s Vietnamese community.
Its mission is to preserve and promote Vietnamese culture while building an annual tradition that welcomes every age and background across Houston and the towns around it. This year VCSA marks 35 years of service.
Official chapter
Phù Đổng Thiên Vương – When Courage Calls, Giants Rise
Each year the fest opens a different chapter of Vietnam’s heritage. 2026 draws from Saint Gióng — Phù Đổng Thiên Vương, one of the Four Immortals. A boy who heard a call, grew into a giant, and rode out for his people. Ordinary courage, extraordinary rise.
Why a Fire Horse
2026 is Bính Ngọ, the Year of the Fire Horse. This companion dresses the Saturday in autumn maple and vermillion seals — a Japanese-style stamp rally walking the same hall as the fest. No flags, just lanterns, ink, and a small horse named Hỏa to keep you company from station to station.
Expect traditional performances, competitions, authentic cuisine, cultural exhibits, folk games, hands-on activities, food booths, health screenings, civic tables, and Vietnamese-owned businesses — a full village under one roof.
